THE HISTORY OF STABATIO

Monêtier

Before of being named Le Monestier and then Monêtier-les-Bains, the village old name was Stabatio, which meant a place of well being, probably related to the healthy qualities of the local thermal water.

Today our Stabatio restaurant is a lively and connecting place, where people meet, relax and enjoy a good meal cooked with genuine products, both from France and Italy, carefully selected.

GENUINE PRODUCTS

In the Buëch and Gapençais, lavender, thyme and rosemary are cultivated thanks to the warm weather. Our chef uses these herbs to give a "provençale" taste to our mountains recipes.
Stabatio - poires

In the Durance valley, apple and pears trees are everywhere. We select thoses with the highest standard of quality to make up our tastefull dishes!

We select local products from our farmers and the best products from all our neighbours regions: lambs of Sisteron from Brainçon, wine and meats from Italy, and the famous cheese from Savoy.
